6 am. I’m still not asleep. laying awake. Sweet, calm thoughts wandering.

Subtle light of the lilac skies peeking through my windows takes me right back.

A million thoughts, but I think about my childhood

A happier place

I swear it’s almost as If I can smell the water that the warm summer breeze swept over again and again.

Thick with salt which caked my hair, but I didn’t care.

I was free. I was happy

Sitting on the dock watching the sky turn

From a blazing fuse of red and orange, to a faded pink,

Then seeing the dark blues that eventually gave into the darkness that glazed over the entire sky.

God, take me back to simpler times and happy vibes
