A man, lord of his earthly realm;

The world of criminal, artful persuasion.

Bloodshed and lies to be his helm,

Power and greed: his one vocation.

He held no rule of dreamworld things,

Yet still affixed their eyes to him.

By early morn, a telephone rings,

Calling his murder, “Sudden and grim”.

A woman, temptress of many romances;

Clever performer in the ways of love.

She'd steal your heart, then your finances,

While posing herself as an innocent dove.

She dreamed of many the world's possessions,

But soon those dreams, as one, betrayed.

Next to her body, a bloody impression:

“Dream not, ye dreamers, the God of Spades.”

His body was mangled, tongue in shreds;

And as for her heart - its cavities flayed.

Many still wonder who'd sow such dread:

Not so who prayed to their God of Spades.
