They stand in judgment.

Feeling somehow you are not worthy

That you are beneath them.

And they are superior.

They criticize your everything

The way you think

They way you talk

The way you write.

They trash you behind your back

Or even in your face

and mock you.

The truth is though

They are not superior to you.

They are beneath you and your attention.

They are the levelers

We all have them.

Here and in real life.

They try to destroy with their words and their actions

Things and talents that they do not themselves possess.

To try to bring you down to their level.

I see through your actions

I see and hear your words

and know the truth here.

You do not pay my bills

You are not my God

Your opinion is simply your own

And at the end of the day

I will still be me

Happy with myself and what I have accomplished.

I will be justified in all things.

And you

You will still be jealous of others.

You will still lie about others

You will still try to bring them down to your lowly level

Because that is what you do.

Greatness is remembered forever

A petty person fades at quickly as they come.
