Down I go...

Down I go; down and deep,

I’m still unable to stay asleep.

My will; my happiness I can’t adhere,

And my own life I cannot steer.

I’ve lost control; I’ve lost to fear,

I’m going down and it’s so clear.

My thoughts—unhealthy and austere,

There is lament in every tear.

I cannot hide or disappear,

My mask’s too thin and very sheer.

My mind’s screams are just severe,

But I can't talk and be sincere.

For I don’t trust, unfortunately,

And doing so would be the end of me.
