Dark days

Iki Mudiaga-Maxwell Aghogho

Days of countless harmony, When will you recollect my small door? As I sat all day, Waiting; Waiting earnestly, from the moment the egrets Find their way, to the hump of the vast cattle.

Days of countless laughter, When will you pause to smile at my lone small door? As I stood all night, Waiting; Waiting tremendously, from the moment the sun Began to take his first drink in the vast ocean.

Yet, The day still remained sinister as night. The shadows of the night, exhaled all furry of hell. Rumbling quakes of thunder And sparking furnace of lightning; Tortured my day and tormented my night, Till the darkness exploded all over my reign. Yet, I believed all this will blow itself out. Jah’s signature must surely avert all this; In due time. In all this tribulation, I learned to trust in Jan’s own judgment. When the time come, There will be no single trace of all these.
