Props to Doc, for inspiring the idea:

The Civil War Revisited

Our keyboard the weapon, the blue and the gray,

or the red and the blue, it's more accurate to say,

launch burning words into the enemy lines

For this is the madness of these partisan times

We are met on this great electronic battlefield,

trying to sow anger, distrust and discord, we wield

new-age weapons that don't kill, but severely injure

Absolute in the righteousness of our cause, so sure

we, and only we, can see the surroundings clear,

one side lives in relative peace, the other in fear

Back and forth, our jagged weapons fly,

trying to dislodge the enemy, to justify

our positions; this great battle leaves scars that'll never heal

Each side entrenched behind opinions of steel
