A cowboy is a professional pastoralist or mounted livestock herder, usually from the Americas or Australia. Cowboys are also an outlaw gang in late 19th century Arizona. Cowboys are even a group of Loyalist irregulars during the American Revolution led by Claudius Smith. There are so many cowboys out there: a film starring Glenn Ford, a documentary film, a Malayalam film starring Asif Ali and Bala, a 2013 Croatian film, a 1972 John Wayne film, a 1974 series based on the film, a British TV sitcom, a 1972 episode of M*A*S*H, a fictional gang member in The Warriors and a 1979 film and later video game. There are also many songs called cowboys: ... That's enough! I don't want to bore you with never ending lists.

Owen was a cowboy from Dallas, Texas. He always started the day the right way. On the right foot? No, with a "Breakfast of Champions" that included bacon and eggs served with toast or home fries... Oh! I forgot the most important: peanut butter! Throughout the day he liked to drink beer from his "Bottle Rocket." He poured the beer from its original recipient inside his "Bottle Rocket" to drink it. It was a peculiar habit he had.

Owen was called "The Minus Man" because he always managed to get "Behind Enemy Lines" (Indians) without being seen. Then he pulled out of a bag a venomous "Anaconda" to provoke panic among the enemy lines. There's a mistake... the snakes had to be Coral Snakes, Copperhead Snakes, Cottonmouth Snakes or Rattlesnakes as they are the venomous snakes that live in the region. Anacondas are not venomous, are too big to fit into a bag, and are not found in the region. Actually, they live in tropical forests, not in deserts. It seemed Owen knew everything about cows, but nothing about snakes.

After the Indians were defeated Owen got bored in the Far West and decided to travel "Around the World in 80 Days." The "Fantastic Mr. Fox" told him it would be fantastic if it could be completed in less than 80 days. Owen did it in only 72 days, breaking the record of Jules Verne.

Owen was not only a cowboy, he was also a gentleman. On this occasion he let Nelly Blye, the journalist who joined him on the around-the-world trip, get all the credit. She deserved it as she counted the days. Owen counted too. However, as he was better at counting cows than days, he ended with a surprising 80 days, just like Jules Verne, which was suspicious. Nelly, on her side, wanted to win the "battle of the sexes," and made it. Strangely, I never heard about Nelly Blye before writing this story. While I heard of Jules Verne and his around-the-world trip from childhood. In this world credit is not always given to the right person.

Owen definitely felt more at ease at home with his cows in the Far West than in big cities. Indeed, he got "Lost in London" and had to spend the "Night at the Museum" as it rained cats and dogs "All Night Long." He looked for "The Grand Budapest Hotel" until "Midnight in Paris," until "The Cable Guy" working at night told him he had more chance to find it in Hungary. Big cities are not for "Free Birds" like Owen, who feels like a "Dolphin" out of water in "Zoolander."

"Australian cattle dogs, are not like Labradors, where they just like to just sit around by the fire and get petted. They're working dogs, so they have a lot of energy, and they can drive you crazy."

They do drive Owen crazy, but not as much as big cities.

"I care desperately about what I do. Do I know what product I'm selling? No. Do I know what I'm doing today? No. But I'm here, and I'm gonna give it my best shot."

Actually, he does know. Owen sells cow's milk and dedicate himself to cattle herding for a living. He's just a laid-back and easy going person. The lifestyle of "Aussies cowboys" is more relax than in the US. They make their dogs work hard, so they can sit around by the fire with a beer. If you are a hardworking cowboy, have a shot at it, you won't regret.

"I think of myself as a doom person. I'm a worrier. But I like the idea of being an optimist. Maybe I'm the kind of optimist who deep down knows it's not going to work."

In this case, he just pretends to be an optimist. I'd be lying if I said he was right. It seems Owen lives in a "Land of Confusion."

"It was nice that you guys have such a good sense of humor, because some people don't have the ability to laugh at something."

Actually, he is talking to you. If you didn't have a good sense of humor, you wouldn't be reading my stories, would you?

"So, goodnight Owen. Do you prefer "Shanghai Noon" or "Permanent Midnight?" Meet the"Shanghai Knights," "Starsky & Hutch" or "Meet the Fockers?" If I were you, I would rather meet "The Royal Tenenbaums." They received more nominations than the others."
