Alex felt completely exposed sitting on the cement bench in the middle of the park, but that was where Tony had said to meet him.  He pulled up his hood as he glanced around.  Alex stuffed his hands in his pockets to hide how bad they were shaking.  He need his fix and Tony was late.  Yanking his hand out of his hoody pocket Alex looked at his watch.  Twenty god damn minutes.

He noticed his leg was bouncing up and down like crazy tapping his heel on the cement.  He slammed his hand down on it as he looked behind him to see if anybody had noticed.  Sweat dripped into his eyes and he realized how bad he was sweating.  It was a warm evening, but not hot enough to be sweating like this he thought as he used his sleeve to mop his forehead.

It was getting dark and soon everybody would clear out.  When that happened, he would be noticed for sure.  He glanced at his watch again and saw only five minutes had passed.  The damn watch must be broken, he tapped the face and held it up to his ear.  It was ticking, but he was sure it was slow.

He glanced around seeing the last mother take her kids home.  Cursing under his breath he stood up to leave.  He had trusted the god damn Tony, and he never showed up with the stuff.  He turned to cut across the park and saw Tony walking towards him with a big grin on his face.

“Damn Alex you look bad.”

“You were suppose to be here earlier, what the fuck happened?”

“I had a little problem getting the stuff, but I got the good stuff for you.”

“Really, the good stuff?”

“Yep right here.”  Tony patted his coat.

“So, hand it over.”
“Got to see the money dude.”

“You know I’m good for it.”

“Deal is cash up front.  So, no money no stuff.”

Alex dug in his pants pocket and pulled out a handful of crumpled bills. He tried to count it, but his hands were shaking too much.  He balled the money up and shoved it into Tony’s hand.

“Here damn it, just give it here.”

Tony pulled it from his coat and tossed it to Alex.  Alex caught it and collapsed on the bench.  He tore it open and inhaled deeply.  He reached into the bag and pulled out a Funyun.
