A A A

This harsh breeze was almost abrasive.  The cold passed through the body and rattled the soul within.  There I sat, eyes squinted, lips tucked behind the collar of my jacket.  I was having difficulty focusing.  My thoughts fluttered about like the many leaves swimming through the atmosphere around me.  The sunlight could barely breach my silhouette through the shade of the looming evergreen I chose to rest upon.  It caused the dew on the tips of my shoes to glisten.  Despite the brisk air, feelings of relaxation took hold of me.  All of the elements of nature seemed to harmonize in some sort of moving picture.  Such a beauty that a single pair of eyes could only behold in awe.  The clouds were shapeshifting in the persistent wind, being woven like strands of silk while the trees slow-danced in the amber light.  The Sun drew closer to the horizon, mixing the subtle hues of mauve and apricot sky.  Everything was okay here.  Regardless of everything else that may be happening in the world, this scenery kept itself sane.  I drew a breath, closed my eyes and let the evening console me.  A home away from home.
