Hold me as I am, and love me as you are; I want to see that bitter face you hide so well behind a smile

I want to touch the heart beneath your skin…

You say its gone cold, it’s too hard to handle, too dense to break…but there are so many cracks in it

I’m afraid to see it crumble…

How do you keep it together? How do you ignore the pain?

It must hurt…but you’re laughing again, and it sounds funny like a sob caught in the wrong pipes

You almost told me the truth that time, but a lie slipped through your lips instead as they fell hard against mine

What more could I do, but simply hold you as you are…but let you love me as I am…
