Drink from my cup

Know that you are yet a god

An idol of the age

Whom brave men have prayed to; weak men have prostrated before;

Hopeful women have vowed before; the feeble have sacrificed to

Know that you are yet among us

Praised in the halls of glory; sung for your works; feared for your mysteries; deified for your wisdom and power

As more than a man

We look upon you

I place my faith in you through unending devotion

If you would but grant my one desire

Spare the one I love their pain

Spare their sorrow and broken heart

Spare their misery

Spare their despondency

Burden me with their troubles instead

Let my shoulders carry the weight of two so that my love may know peace

I implore you

Drown me in sorrows

Spare my love their pain
