The Hotel

The first and last hotel,

The frozen hotel

Of blood stained spoons

And white noise conversations,

Where the bodies are spread out

In bric-a-brac rooms,

Warm and relaxed

In the middle class comfort

of heroin.

The hotel of waning guests and residents,

And Saturday night tourists,

And intravenous Christs,

Sallow in the candlelight

Flickering

Heating their holy water.

Their flesh praying against the windows

As voices haunt the telephone,

And eyes are pinpointed to a flare,

To distant

To be heard.
