It was raining heavily outside. She crawled under her bed sheet feeling lazy to wake up. She opened her eyes contemplating about life. She got up and caught a glimpse of herself in mirror. Her soft hands ran through the wrinkles of her elated face. Her sensitive brown eyes stood unparalleled to her saggy cheeks and weathered skin. She smiled in content looking at her kid’s picture in black thick wooden frame. At that moment, she accidently slipped into the well of her past. Fog of darkness had spread so quickly. She wandered petrified and lost. She is now only a witness of her past. She gasped for breath witnessing his heavy hands laying on her thighs eventually going up. She never wanted it but couldn’t run away from that heavy cigar smelling breath. He was trusted by her family more than they trust her. She stared at the wall, feeling fearful to look into his eyes as he moved wildly. He was a beast with thick black curly hair grabbing her like a bait. As time passed, she longed for warm hugs and a gentle kiss from him which she never got. But she loved him deeply for no reasons. Was that a true love? But she wondered what is true love. The days passed slowly than the sleepless nights. While walking down the school corridor, she looked down not able to stand the stares of others. She ate half-baked rice sitting alone underneath the banyan tree in the corner of the ground running away from the giggles of her classmates. She was always a melancholy soul. The clouds of emptiness rapidly filled her life. She no longer felt hungry. She sheltered in the dark corner of her room. The Smell of flowers and the sound of bell made her feel crazy. She could see a wounded child who lost her way back home. While falling deeper and deeper into the unknown darkness, she saw herself walking slowly towards the mirror, not caring about clothes. Looking at herself, a profound hate started to develop in her mind. In the table near the mirror, the knife was shining, ready to be picked. She looked at it with a love she never experienced before. Looking at the mirror she saw for first time her face so closely. Sad glazing eyes looked back at her pathetically. She took her long soft fingers to gently brush her small firm breasts moving down to her slim waist. A cool breeze swept through her mind. She felt less determined and couldn’t believe how beautiful she is. She stared at it for a very long time. It wasn’t an easy choice for her. She took the knife and brought it near her wrist. A minute passed. And again another. She couldn’t do it. A warm light started to spread through the unknown lands of darkness. Her heart started to beat fast. It was a moment of flicker. Deep down she could feel the water gushing down to the barren deserts of her past. Ocean of emotions fled through her mind. She cried and screamed in pain. She let herself grieve in pain. Passing through the walls of her memories, her eyes opened gently. Looking at mirror, she knew everything had changed.
