I Found My Brain On The Street Corner, But.....
-
I saw my brain on the street corner
I picked it up
Put it back in my head
But I don't think I re-installed it right
Something ain't right
The thoughts are not coming thru correctly
Even my perception of the world
__seems "off"
It makes me wanna lose my mind
__all over again
'Cause what's the point
__in having a mind
____if it ain't even working properly?
But tonight is a beautiful night
Regardless
The stars are shining
My heart is in tip top shape
How i feel is astonishing
And the night is young
Second cup of coffee
And my head ache feels better
Calming my nerves
There is nothing wrong
__with thee outside world
And of that's just my brain
__seeing things this way
____maybe I don't need to fix it
Maybe I don't need to find out
__how to rewire it
____at all

I really liked this part:
"The thoughts are not coming thru correctly
Even my perception of the world
__seems off
It makes me wanna lose my mind
__all over again"

Thank you. It's a reflection of schizophrenia. I wanted to express how having your mind back does not always mean it's gone back to it's former state, perfectly back to normal. Medz didn't solve a lot of things, and recovery did not heal me all the way. Thank you for finding an interest in thee most important lines of this poem.
