On a dark and starry night, the Rat Pack & I were at my house and we were having game night. We were in the dining room playing Monopoly. Well, Micah, Kirianne, CJ, Justin, Amber, Daryl, Steven & I are playing Monopoly while Sam & Anna watches us play. “Damn,” said Steven as he place his shoe piece to jail, “Why did I had to roll a double six? Now I have to go to jail.” “Too bad you don’t have a ‘Get out of Jail Free’ card,” smiled Amber. “You’re enjoy watching me suffer,” said Steven. “Steven, you’re not suffering,” said Micah. “Yeah Steven,” said Daryl, “It’s just a game.” “Just a game,” said Steven, “I want to see you say that when you land to jail.” “Steven, come on,” I said, “We’re just having fun playing Monopoly.” “Maybe you are but I’m sick of playing Monopoly,” said Steven, “Every time I played Monopoly, I’ll end up going to jail.” “You know what,” said Kirianne, “Let’s take a break.” “Now,” said CJ, “But I’m winning.” “Yeah,” said Justin, “You nearly clean all of us out.” “You’re right,” I said, “Let’s take a break.” “Good,” said Steven. “Okay, let’s talk about our next creepy mystery,” said Anna. “What next creepy mystery,” said Sam, “There haven’t been a creepy mystery in weeks not since you almost became Dracula’s bride.” “Don’t remind me,” said Anna. “And besides, I’m glad there haven’t been any creepy mysteries,” said Steven, “Because every time there’s a creepy mystery, something bad always happen to us.” “Like what,” said Micah. “Like when we were held prison by Anton Arcane,” explained Steven, “Then there was that time we were stalked by a gill man. And then there was that time when were trapped in a haunted mansion. Or how ‘bout that time when we took a road trip with a robot. Or how ‘bout when we almost got kill by a creature from another world.” “Okay Steven,” said Amber, “We get it. But I bet you wouldn’t complaint if it’s one of your leading ladies.” “By the way, who is your leading lady,” I asked. “Halle Berry,” said Steven. “Shut up,” I said. “I thought she was hot when she was topless in ‘Swordfish’ and butt naked in ‘Monster’s Ball’,” explained Steven, “But when she won an Oscar and gave that speech, she sounds so sexist.” “Steven, how can you say that,” said Anna, “She was happy that she won an Oscar.” “And she made history of being the first African-American actress to win the Best Actress Oscar,” explained Justin. “Steven, sometimes you can be so cold-hearted,” said Amber. “All right Amber,” said Steven, “Who’s your leading man?” “Channing Tatum,” said Amber. “That wimp,” said Steven. “Hey,” said Amber, “Say what you want about Channing Tatum but he is fine.” “Well I’m sticking with Hugh Jackman,” said Kirianne, “He’s hot!” “Well I’m sticking with my two favorite leading men,” said Anna, “Keanu Reeves and my favorite creepy mystery writer Brandon James.” “You want to know who’s my leading lady,” said Sam. “Yeah, let’s hear it,” said Steven, “Who’s your leading lady?” “Margot Robbie,” said Sam. “Are you out of your mind,” said Steven, “Did you see her as Harley Quinn in ‘Suicide Squad’?” “Steven, she only plays a crazy villain in the movie,” said Micah. “And besides, did you see how hot she was in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’,” said Sam. “I did,” I said. “All right Mr. Creepy Mystery writer,” said Steven, “Who is your leading lady?” “Taraji P. Henson,” I said. “What,” said Steven. “Hey, she is fine,” I said, “If you see her butt naked in ‘Baby Boy’, then you’ll know what I mean.” “I can’t believe it,” said Steven, “You pick a second-rate actress as your leading lady.” “Steven, Taraji P. Henson is a great actress,” said Anna. “And there’s nothing second rate about her,” said Kirianne. “Whatever,” said Steven. “Steven, my leading lady is Megan Fox,” said Daryl, “Do you think she’s a second-rate actress?” “Anyone who married a has been star of ‘Beverly Hills 90210' is a second-rate actress,” said Steven. “Steven, what’s wrong with Megan Fox married to Brian Austin Green,” said Kirianne. “She’s hot and he’s a has been,” said Steven. “Steven, you’re such an ass,” said Amber. “Well my leading lady is not a has been,” said Micah. “And who is your leading lady,” said Steven. “Julia Roberts,” said Micah. “Really,” said CJ, “My leading lady is Cameron Diaz.” “Who’s your leading lady Justin,” asked Amber. “Scarlett Johansson,” said Justin. “Oh great,” said Steven, “His leading lady is the Black Widow.” Then suddenly, Kirianne’s cell phone was ringing and Kirianne got up to go to the kitchen to answer her cell phone. Meanwhile, the rest of us are wandering who would be calling Kirianne. “Who would be calling Kirianne,” I asked. “It could be a boyfriend,” said Micah. “She hadn’t date anyone since she came to America,” explained Amber. “Maybe she’s a lesbian,” said Sam. “She’s not a lesbian,” said Steven. “And besides, I don’t think she’s a lesbian,” said Anna. Then Kirianne came in the dining room looking scare to death and we all look at her. “Kirianne, what’s wrong,” asked Micah. “I had to go,” said Kirianne. “But we’re about to restart Monopoly,” I said. “I’m sorry but I had to go,” said Kirianne as she walks out the kitchen door. “What the hell was that about,” said Steven. “I don’t know,” said Amber, “She does look scare.” “Listen, let’s leave her alone for a while,” said Micah. “I agree,” I said, “Let’s give her some space.” The next morning, I was on the phone trying to call Kirianne but there was no answer. So I hang up the phone and I was about to go to my van when the telephone was ringing. So I answers the phone. “Hello,” I answered. “Hello Brandon,” said the sheriff, “My name is Sheriff Ferbee and I’m calling on behalf of PNC Bank.” “Why would you be calling me,” I asked. “Because last night, someone rob the PNC Bank,” explained Sheriff Ferbee, “The robber was invisible and I’ve heard you investigate creepy mysteries.” “Yeah,” I said. “Well can you come down to the bank and help us out,” he asked. “Sure,” I said, “I’ll be there.” “Okay,” he said as he hung up. Twenty-minutes later, the Rat Pack (minus Kirianne) & I were heading to Only when we were discussing about letting Kirianne go. “Guys, I’m thinking about letting Kirianne go,” I explained. “What,” said Amber, “Are you out of your mind?” “Kirianne didn’t answer my calls,” I explained, “And she wasn’t home when I went to pick her up.” “Maybe she have a doctor’s appointment,” said Sam. “I don’t know,” said Justin, “She does look scare when she walks out last night.” “I want to know who call her last night,” said Micah. “I don’t know but I’m going to find out,” I said when suddenly, something try to run my van over. “What was that,” said Daryl. “I don’t know,” I said when suddenly, something hit my van. I look out the window and I saw a car trying to run us over but there’s no one driving. “What did you see,” asked Micah. “No one is driving the car,” I said. “WHAT,” yelled Steven. “Fasten your safety belts because I’m going to run that sucker over,” I said as I hit the car with my van. The car lost control and it crashes to a tree. So I stopped the van and we got out of the van. We walks to the car and notice the door was open. We look inside the car and no one was in the car. “What was that all about,” said Steven, “No one is in the car but the car was trying to kill us.” “That is strange,” said Micah. “Do you think it’s the Invisible Man,” asked Amber. “That’s impossible,” I said, “He’s in jail being rehabilitated.” “Well, it must be a copycat,” said Justin. “I think it’s Dr. Pretorius,” I said. “You mean that quack doctor who sent a robot to kill Keith,” said CJ. “Yeah,” I said. “But we don’t even know what he look like,” said Daryl. “I still have a picture of him,” I said as I took out the picture and show it to the gang. “He look like Einstein,” said Justin. “He does look creepy,” said Amber. “But how do you know Dr. Pretorius behind this,” said Sam. “Just a feeling,” I said. “Well feeling or no feeling, we’ve better get to the PNC Bank,” said Micah. “Right,” I said as we went back to the van. Few minutes later at PNC Bank, the gang & I were looking at the security tape of last night’s robbery. We notice that the bank robber is invisible just like the driver. So I took out my cell phone and call Anna. “Hello,” answered Anna. “Hey Anna,” I said. “Hey Brandon, are you still coming over my house,” she said. “I’ll had to take a rain check tonight,” I explained, “I’m on a case right now.” “What kind of case,” she asked. “It’s the Invisible Man,” I said. “But I thought he’s in jail,” she said. “I don’t think it’s the same guy,” I said, “I think this is one of Dr. Pretorius’s lab rats.” “You mean like Victor Grimes was,” she said. “Yeah,” I said. “Do you want me to find out about Dr. Pretorius’s experiment on invisibility,” she asked. “Yes,” I said. “Anything else,” she said. “There is one other thing you can do,” I said, “Your friend is a private investigator right.” “Yes,” she said. “I need you to call your friend and see if she can find out about Kirianne Bird,” I explained. “You think Kirianne is hiding something,” she asked. “It’s just a feeling,” I explained, “And besides, she wasn’t even at home when I went to pick her up.” “Well I did try to call her while ago,” she explained, “I want to see if she’s all right but her phone number is no longer in service. I even call her cell phone number but it no longer in service. I’m worry about her.” “We all worry about her,” I said, “Can you do it?” “I’ll make a few calls to England and find out about Kirianne’s past history,” she said, “Then I’ll call my friend Janet Cowling to dig some dirt on Kirianne. I’ll come by your house when I find something.” “Okay,” I said. “And Brandon, you owe me big,” she said. “I’ll take you out to dinner and I’ll pay,” I said. “It’s a date,” she said, “I’ll better get back to my class.” “Okay,” I said, “Bye!” “Bye,” she said as she hung up and I put away my cell phone. “Do you really think Kirianne have something to do with this,” asked Micah. “I don’t know what to think,” I said. “Brandon, Kirianne is our friend and I’m sure she have her reasons,” said Amber. “I would love to hear them,” said Steven. “C’mon guys,” said Amber, “Kirianne is not the kind of person who keep secrets.” “I don’t know,” said Micah, “She turns me & Brandon down.” “And she told me she was dealing with some personal problems when she turns me down,” I explained. “Personal problems,” said Sam. “What kind of personal problems,” asked Daryl. “I don’t know,” I said, “But Anna is going to find out for me.” “For your sake, I hope you’re wrong about Kirianne,” said Amber. “That’s make two of us,” I said. This afternoon, the gang & I came back to my house when we saw Mr. McManus & Anna on the porch. So we got out of the van and walk to the porch. “Mr. McManus, what are you doing here,” I asked. “Anna calls me and told me you’re investigate the bank robbery,” explained Mr. McManus, “So you think Dr. Pretorius have something to do with this.” “I think so,” I said. “Well I got something to show all of you,” said Mr. McManus, “I have some video footage on invisible people.” “Invisible people,” said Sam. “You’re joking right,” said Steven. “Steven, invisibility is not a joke,” said Anna, “In fact, I’ve found out on the Internet that Dr. Pretorius had done an experiment on invisibility the same time he conducts the experiment that turns Victor Grimes into a man-bat.” “Who was the person,” I asked. “His name was Brian Brewster,” said Anna, “He was married but she died from drowning while they were on a sailing trip. Scotland Yard never found the body.” “That’s terrible,” said Amber. “Anyway, I would like to see that video Mr. McManus,” I said. “Oh c’mon Brandon,” said Steven, “You’re going to watch some boring documentary on invisible people.” “If we want to stop the Invisible Man,” said Micah as Daryl interrupts him. “Just let Steven have his hissy fit,” said Daryl. “Hissy fit,” said Steven, “I got your hissy fit.” “Steven, we don’t have time for this,” I said, “Now we all need to go inside.” “Brandon, I need to talk to you,” said Anna as the rest of the gang went inside the house with Mr. McManus. “Did you find something on Kirianne,” I asked. “Yes, I’ve found too much about Kirianne,” she said, “In fact, I’ve found out about her identity.” “Identity,” I said. “It turns out there is a Kirianne Bird but she’s living in Florida with her husband & two kids,” she explained, “That Kirianne is not British, she’s an American.” “What that got to do with anything,” I said. “There’s more,” she said, “Janet discovers some information about Kirianne from England. Do you remember when I told you that Brian Brewster’s wife dies from drowning?” “Yes,” I said. “Well here’s a picture of his wife,” she said as she shows me a picture of Kirianne, “Her real name is Rebecca Clayton-Brewster. Clayton is her maiden name.” “I can’t believe this,” I said, “I don’t even know this woman anymore.” “So what are we going to do,” she asked. “We have to tell the gang the truth,” I explained, “Then we had to find Kirianne or Rebecca and confront her about her husband.” That evening, we were all in the house discussing about the Invisible Man & Dr. Pretorius when Kirianne finally show up and we all look at her. “I’m sorry I didn’t show up this morning,” said Kirianne, “I wasn’t feeling so good but I’m feeling much better now.” “We need to talk Kirianne or would you prefer Rebecca,” I said. “What the bloody hell are you talking about,” said Kirianne. “Cut the crap babygirl,” said Steven, “We know all about you & your husband.” “I don’t have a husband,” said Kirianne. “You do Rebecca,” said Anna. “It’s time to tell us everything,” said Mr. McManus. Then Kirianne broke down crying in tears and Amber walks toward her to comfort her. “It’s all right,” said Amber, “We’re not mad at you.” “Yeah, we’re not mad at you,” said Daryl, “We just want to know what’s going on with you.” “Start from the beginning,” said Micah. “Okay,” said Kirianne as she wipe the tears off of her eyes, “My real name is Rebecca Clayton and I’m from Manchester, England. I use to be married to a guy named Brian Brewster. I first met him when I was in college and we fell in love so fast. Then we got marry and he changes after our honeymoon. He starts beating me and told me if I ever leave him, he’ll find me & kill me. One day, he broke my arm and I wake up in the hospital.” “That no good bastard,” said Steven. “Steven, watch your language,” said Anna. “Anyway, I’ve decide I wasn’t going to take it anymore,” explained Rebecca, “So that night, my husband & I went sailing and I jump into the water to make him think I’ve drown. I swim to shore and I left England. I change my name to Kirianne Bird so my husband won’t know that I’ve survive.” “Did you file for a divorce,” asked Mr. McManus. “Yes, but the divorce lawyer says I have no case,” explained Rebecca. “How long had you two been married,” I asked. “Three years, seven months & six days,” explained Rebecca. “So Brian Brewster have been abusing you for three years,” said CJ. “You know I think the effects of the invisibility formula cause him to be abusive,” explained Mr. McManus. “What was that phone call yesterday,” I asked. “That was from a friend of mine who brought me to America,” explained Rebecca, “He calls me and told me that my husband discovers that I’m alive in America.” “What’s your friend’s name,” asked Justin. “His name was Lester Bird,” said Rebecca. “Where can we find him,” asked Amber. “You won’t,” said Rebecca, “Because this morning, I’ve receive a package from my husband and it contains Lester’s head inside. It was horrible.” “What are we dealing with,” said Sam, “An invisible British version of Jason Vorhees.” “Well he did try to kill us this morning,” I said. “You mean Brian is here on Eastern Shore,” said Rebecca. “Yes,” said Micah, “And he robs the PNC Bank last night.” “What,” said Rebecca. “So Rebecca, where did you go this morning,” I asked. “I can’t tell you,” said Rebecca. “Rebecca,” I said. “I just can’t,” said Rebecca. “Rebecca, I almost lost my boyfriend this morning,” explained Anna, “I have already bury my fiancé and I don’t want to lose another man in my life.” “Did you just refer to me as your boyfriend,” I asked. “Yes,” said Anna as she kisses me. “Okay, enough with the sissy stuff,” said Steven, “Let’s get back to where did Rebecca go this morning.” “I told you I can’t tell you,” said Rebecca. “Rebecca, just tell us where did you go,” said Amber. “Guys, Rebecca doesn’t had to tell us if she don’t want to,” said Mr. McManus, “She’s probably protecting someone she cares about.” “Yes I am,” said Rebecca. “Okay,” I said, “We won’t endangers your source.” “Thank you,” said Rebecca. “Mr. McManus, you says that the invisibility formula cause Brian Brewster to be abusive,” said Micah. “Yes,” said Mr. McManus, “I think Dr. Pretorius gave Brian Brewster so much doses that he became insane and cause his mind to go haywire.” “How are we going to stop the Invisible Man,” said Sam, “He’s invisible!” “You know what,” said Anna, “I think he’ll might come after Rebecca.” “What,” said Amber. “It does make sense,” I said, “Brewster knows that his wife is still alive and he might go to her house.” “What are you suggesting,” asked Rebecca. “How ‘bout you stay here tonight,” I said, “The rest of the gang will go to your house and set a trap for your husband.” “I don’t think it’s a good idea,” said Rebecca. “Don’t worry,” said Micah as I throw him the keys, “We’ll be fine.” “I don’t know how to thank you all,” said Rebecca. “Well you can get us front row tickets to the Macy Gray concert,” I said. “I’ll see what I can do,” said Rebecca as started laughing. “I’m glad to see you laugh again,” said Micah. “Yeah,” I said, “That’s one of the 10 things we like about you.” “You know what Brandon,” said Mr. McManus, “I have a better idea. Why won’t you take Rebecca to a safe place.” “What do you have in mind,” I asked. “I have one,” said Anna, “How ‘bout you take her to your mother & stepfather in New Church.” “Hey, that’s a good idea,” said Amber as Micah throw me back my keys. “Okay,” I said as I got up and look at Anna. “I’ll wait for you when you two come back,” said Anna as she kisses me. “You’re ready,” I said. “Yeah,” said Rebecca. “Let’s go,” I said as Rebecca & I walk out the door. We got in the van and I start the ignition. We drove off as Rebecca was looking at me. “How come you don’t talk about your family,” asked Rebecca. “There’s nothing to talk about,” I said. “I would like to know about your family tree,” she said. “Well my mother used to work at Curves Gym,” I said. “You mean she was a fitness trainer,” she said. “Yeah,” I said, “But she quits that job to go back to school to get a degree. That’s how she became a hotel manager.” “What about your father,” she asked. “He’s David Tankard’s foreman at David’s Nursery,” I explained. “So how come your parents are not together,” she asked. “Well they broke up when I was 4,” I explained, “I was raised by my grandmother & aunt.” “Do you have sibling,” she asked. “I have a your brother who used to be in the National Guard,” I explained, “And I have a younger sister who’s living with her boyfriend & her four kids.” “How come your brother is not in the National Guard anymore,” she asked. “He was discharge after he came home from Iraq,” I explained, “He suffers some trauma coming home from Iraq but as far as I know, he’s fine.” “When the last time you talk to him,” she asked. “Two years ago,” I explained, “Our last conversation turns ugly and we hadn’t spoken since.” “What about your sister,” she asked. “Well we talk sometimes,” I said. “Where’s your grandmother & your aunt,” she asked. “My grandmother dies when I was 17,” I explained, “And my aunt marries a guy she met at diagnoses and now they live in Richmond.” “What about your grandfather,” she asked. “I don’t know,” I said, “I’ve never met my grandfather. I’ve heard he passed away when he was in Florida.” “Oh,” she said. Few minutes later, we stop at Shore Stop putting some gas in the van while we were still talking. “I can’t believe you think Miss Piggy is cute,” said Rebecca. “Yeah,” I said, “Why do you think Kermit the Frog get all that booty?” “I’ve always thought Gozmo was cute,” she said. “Have you seen his nose,” I said, “Gozmo’s nose look like Pinocchio’s nose when it grows every time he told a lie.” “Gozmo’s nose isn’t that bad,” she said. “Please,” I said, “Are you going to pay for the gas or I’ll do it?” “I’ll pay for the gas,” she said as she went inside Shore Stop. Then suddenly, I heard the police through the CB radio while I was putting back the gas pump. “Attention all police officers,” said the police, “The Invisible Man had robbed the BB&T Bank and disappears without a trace. Be an alert for the Invisible Man because he could be anywhere.” Then suddenly, Rebecca came out and I walk toward her. “Rebecca, your husband have just robbed the BB&T Bank,” I explained. “What,” she said. “I heard it through the CB radio,” I said. “We’ve better get going,” she said as we got in the van. Few minutes later, Rebecca & I were riding at Accomack County in the highway traveling to New Church. “What do you want in life,” asked Rebecca. “I want to marry Halle Berry,” I said. “Is she too old for you,” she asked. “But she’s cute,” I said. “She’s still too old for you,” she said, “And besides, she’s too good for you.” “What,” I said, “I’ve always want Halle Berry since I was a teenager. She makes me horny.” “I can’t believe you,” she said, “You just like all the other men. All you men study about is Halle Berry.” “Whatever,” I said, “I have the right to have sexual fantasies about Halle Berry.” “I’m sorry,” she said, “I shouldn’t tell you what to do. You have the right to drool over Halle Berry.” “Listen Rebecca, I love Anna,” I explained, “I don’t know what to do if something happens to her. I can never forgive myself.” “What about me,” she said. “I won’t let Brian Brewster kill you,” I said, “You’ll be safe with my mother & stepfather.” “Are you sure the gang will set a trap for my husband,” she asked. “Well it won’t be easy because he’s invisible,” I explained. “Nothing is easy when you’re marry to an abusive husband for three years,” she explained. “You’re not the only one who have an abusive marriage,” I explained, “There’s a lot of women who have been through what you’ve been through.” “Brandon, can we make a stop at Parksley,” she asked. “What for,” I asked. “I want to see someone,” she said. “Who,” I said. “My mother,” she said. “So you brought her here with you,” I said. “Yes,” she said, “I put her in Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center so she can be taking care of.” “What happened,” I asked. “Two years ago, my mother suffers a stroke and became blind,” she explained, “So my husband put her in a nursing home that won’t allow me to visit her.” “That’s rough,” I said, “I don’t know what to do if something happens to my mother.” “So can you take me to Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center,” she asked. “Sure,” I said as I keep driving. Two minutes later, Rebecca & I were at Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center looking her mother’s room. “So what makes you take Lester’s last name,” I asked. “He asks me to take it,” explained Rebecca. “So Brian don’t know that you mother use a different name in this place,” I said. “No,” she said, “We changed our names so Brian won’t find us.” So we reach her mother’s room and the room number is 7. “So this is where Emma Bird is at,” I said. “Yes,” she said as we went in and I saw an senior citizen that look just like Helen Mirren lying in her bed. Rebecca walks toward her and wake her us. “Mother,” said Rebecca as Emma woke up and heard her voice. “Rebecca, is that you,” asked Emma. “Yes,” she said as Emma smiles. “Oh Rebecca my dear,” said Emma as she was in tears. “Would you mind if I have a private conversation with my mother,” asked Rebecca. “I’ll be in the van,” I said as I walk out of the room. I was walking through the hallway until I ran into my old high school friend Irene Torres. “Brandon, is that you,” asked Irene. “Irene, how are you,” I said. “Fine,” she said. “So you’re a nurse now,” I said. “Yes,” she said, “I was transfer from Sentra Hospital.” “Don’t tell me you’re a nurse in this place,” I said. “No,” she said, “I’m one of the new nurses at the new Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onley.” “So what are you doing here,” I asked. “I’m here to visit my grandmother,” she explained, “What are you doing here?” “I’m here to help a friend,” I said. “Oh,” she said. “She’s visiting her mother,” I explained, “I’m waiting for her to come out.” “Oh,” she said. “Yeah, we’re going to my mother in New Church,” I explained. “Do you mind if I take a ride with you,” she asked. “Sure,” I said as we were walking through the hallway. Fifteen minutes later, Irene & I were in the van waiting for Rebecca to come out of the building. “So this Brian Brewster is the Invisible Man and he’s after Rebecca,” said Irene. “Yes,” I said, “It’d seem she used to be marry to him.” “My God,” said Irene when suddenly, Rebecca came out of the building and walk toward the van. Rebecca got in the van and saw Irene in the front seat. So she got in the back seat. “Rebecca, this is my old friend Irene Torres,” I introduced her to Rebecca. “It’s nice to meet you,” said Irene, “Brandon told me how you him in all of his creepy mysteries.” “Yeah, I was his first client on his first case,” said Rebecca as I start the ignition and drove out of the parking lot. Fifteen minutes later, we arrives at my mother’s house in New Church. Rebecca, Irene & I got out of the van and walk to the door. I knock on the door and someone opens the door. It turns out to be my stepfather Ricky. “Ricky,” I said, “How are you?” “Fine,” said Ricky, “Who are the pretty ladies?” “These are my friends ----- Rebecca Clayton & Irene Torres,” I introduced them to him. “It’s nice to meet you Mr. Wharton,” said Irene as she shook his hand. “Is my mother home,” I asked. “She’s in the bathroom taking a shower,” he said. “Yuck,” I said. “What,” said Rebecca. “Have you ever picture your mother naked,” I asked. “No,” said Irene. “Don’t because it will give you nightmares,” I said as we came in the house. “I’m just kidding,” said Ricky, “Your mother is at Brandi’s house next door.” “Don’t ever do that again,” I said. “Let’s watch come TV,” said Irene as she turns on the TV and “Total Divas” is on. “Oh wow,” said Rebecca, “‘Total Divas’ is on.” “I love that show,” said Irene as the girls sat down and watch “Total Divas”. “You like that show,” I said. “Yes,” said Rebecca, “Don’t you.” “No, but I’m a fan of the Bella Twins,” I said. “Oh sure,” said Rebecca, “You have the hot for the Bella Twins.” “Don’t you mean hots,” said Irene, “And besides, Brie is married to Daniel Bryan and Nikki is engaged to that fine John Cena.” “Oh yeah,” said Rebecca, “Nikki is Brandon’s favorite Bella.” “Hey, I’m right here,” I said. Then suddenly, someone came in the back door and it turns out to be my mother. “Mom,” I said as I turn around and saw her. “Brandon, what are you doing here,” she said, “And who’s your friends.” “These are my friends ------ Rebecca Clayton & Irene Torres,” I introduced the girls to my mother, “Ladies, meet Alice Mae James-Wharton.” “Wharton, is that your last name,” asked Rebecca. “Yes, Ricky is my husband,” said Alice. “Oh,” said Rebecca. “So what bring you three here,” said Ricky. “I was hoping you can let us stay here for a few days,” I said. Then my mother starts laughing. “What’s wrong,” I said. “You’re joking right,” Alice laughed. Then Rebecca got up and walk toward my mother. “Mrs. Wharton, please let us stay,” explained Rebecca, “Your son actually brought me here for protection. My husband came to Eastern Shore to kill me.” “Why would your husband wants to kill you,” asked Alice. “Because he abuse me and I ran away,” explained Rebecca, “Please let me stay for a few days.” “Okay,” said Alice, “I’ll let you stay for Brandon because it seems he’s very fond of you.” “Mom,” I said. “You told your mother about me,” said Rebecca. “I kind of sent her my short stories,” I explained. “Wow,” said Irene, “You write short stories.” “Yes,” said Rebecca, “He wrote short stories of every creepy mysteries we solve.” “You’re a writer & a detective,” said Ricky. “Anyway, I came back to get Ricky because Brandi needs someone to fix her pipes,” said Alice. “I’ll get my tools,” said Ricky as he went to the bedroom. “Well Brandon, do you want to see Brandi,” said Alice, “She asks about you every time you solve one of your creepy mysteries.” “Okay,” I said. “You don’t mind if I tag along,” said Irene. “Sure,” I said, “Rebecca, would you be all right by yourself.” “Yeah,” said Rebecca as Ricky came out of the bedroom with his tool belt. “We’ll be back in an hour,” said Alice, “If you want to go the refrigerator, wash your hands first.” “Okay,” said Rebecca as we went out the back door. Thirty-minutes later, Rebecca was in the bathroom taking a shower when suddenly, she heard a noise. So she turns off the water and came out of the bathtub. She dries herself with a towel and put her clothes back on. Rebecca came out of the bathroom and notice the kitchen window was open. So she went to put down the window. “You hadn’t change a bit Rebecca,” said Brian Brewster when Rebecca’s expression changes to fear. “Brian,” said Rebecca. “Oh, that’s right,” he said, “You’re Kirianne Bird now.” So Rebecca turns around and notice Brian is invisible. “Brian please,” she said as a wedding ring flashes in front of her. “You forgot your wedding ring,” he said. “How did you find me,” she asked. “I have my connections on Eastern Shore,” he said, “And I spoke to your mother at Riverside Rehabilitation Center.” “If you hurt her,” she said. “I’ve never lay a hand on her,” he said, “I want you back Rebecca.” “I’ll never going back to you,” she said as she throw a hot pan of water at him and turn him visible again. “You bitch,” he said as he ran toward her and try to choke her. Brian was strangling Rebecca until she kicks him in the nuts. “I WILL WIN BECAUSE I’M STRONGER PERSON THAN I EVER WAS,” she yelled when suddenly, Brian took out a knife and stab her in the stomach. “If I can’t have you, then no one will,” he said when suddenly, Rebecca took out a gun and shot him in the heart. Rebecca watches Brian die while she was losing blood herself when suddenly, I came in and saw Rebecca bleeding to death. “REBECCA,” I yelled as I ran toward and hold her in my arms. “Brandon, I’ve enjoy solving creepy mysteries with you,” said Rebecca. “Don’t talk like that,” I said, “You’re going to be fine.” “It’s okay,” she said, “I can die now. My husband is dead and my mother is safe.” “Let me call the ambulance,” I said. “I want this,” she said, “You have been a good friend to me. Tell the others that I will miss them especially Amber.” “I will,” I said. “I’m so cold,” she said, “Keep me warm please!” So I held on to Rebecca and then she passes away. I was in tears because I have lost my closest friend. Then Irene, Ricky & my mother came in and saw me holding Rebecca. “I’ve call the police,” said Alice. “What happened,” asked Irene. “Brian Brewster came to kill Rebecca,” I explained, “He stabs her and she dies in my arms.” So I got up and I walk out the door with tears in my eyes. Five days later, Micah, Daryl, Steven, Amber, Justin, CJ, Anna, Sam, Irene, Mr. McManus & I attends Rebecca’s funeral at the Belle Haven Cemetery. We all mourns over her death. “I’ve fail her in life but I will not fail her in death,” I said. “What are you going to do,” asked Irene. “I guess we’ll disband since Rebecca is dead,” said Amber. “We’re not disbanding the Rat Pack,” I said. “Why not,” said Steven. “Because we must stay together,” I said, “That’s what Rebecca wants.” “Brandon is right,” said Anna, “We had to stick together.” “What are you going to do,” asked Mr. McManus. “I’m going after Dr. Pretorius,” I said, “I’m not going to rest until he’s stopped.” “I’m with you,” said Anna. “Me too,” said Micah. “Count me in,” said Sam. “I’m with you,” said Steven. “We’ll avenge Rebecca’s death by stopping Dr. Pretorius,” said CJ. “You have my vote,” said Justin. “You can count on me,” said Amber. “The next time, we’ll kick Dr. Pretorius’s butt,” said Daryl. “I’m with you if you let me join the Rat Pack,” said Irene. “You’re in,” I said, “I’m sure Rebecca would like you to join.” “So when do we start,” said Irene. “We just did,” I said. And so we’ve lost a friend but the gravestone will say “Kirianne Bird” because as far as the world know Rebecca Clayton dies of drowning in Manchester, England. I manage to visit Rebecca’s mother at Riverside Shore Rehabilitation Center and we talk about Rebecca. I can remember the day when Rebecca came to my house and ask for my help. She maybe dead but we will never forget her.
