School Shootings

by Michael Dale Sipes, Jr.

First and foremost, I feel for those parents who lost children, but this whole gun shit has gotten out of control and the blame has shifted from the parents to guns themselves. I don't think teens have too much appreciation for their second amendment rights or owning handguns or rifles later in life. I was book smart in High School, but naive to the world and how it worked. Never in High School did I say, I want to own a handgun. Sex, college, and the Army were foremost on my mind. I feel for these kids, but the first problem lies with the parents not securing firearms. It's not like a 17 y/o can buy a gun. In Virginia, you had to be 21 to buy a handgun. It all comes down to politics and money. Kids these days have too many social stressors, if they don't kill by knife they will steal their parent's unsecured firearms.

Something no one considers or talks about is that there are serial killers born every day, these individuals grow up to be teenagers, most don't start killing until their late 20's to early 30's. There are serial killers in every school and when they begin to kill is unpredictable. The only thing that will rehabilitate a serial killer is death. We could abolish guns in this country and nothing would change, mentally disturbed kids will still kill. I own five handguns and an M16 assault rifle. since I am an Army Veteran. The government will take my guns after a shootout and then they can pry them from my dead bloody hands. You can have your opinion but the Constitution in which I swore to protect and defend is the Supreme law of the land and it will stand that way. Americans will not give up their guns any more than they gave up alcohol during prohibition. There is nothing that will stop a serial killer from killing, however social media is feeding their minds and bringing their true nature to bear at an earlier age.
