The Young Boy Who Was Like No Other

by Michael Dale Sipes, Jr.

I once met a boy close to my age that was like no other.

We became friends until he was as close as a Brother.

Over time my love turned into a passion

my love of him gave me great satisfaction.

He loved me back and in great surprise,

it was he who initiated the love that opened my eyes.

One day I heard a song that fit him just right

it said if loving you is wrong I don’t want to be right.

As time would have it the boy turned into a man

and over time we grew apart.

But I could not help but want more

of the love and desire now deep in my heart.

He moved away to college and we grew more distant.

I never stopped loving him until one particular visit.

Things got out of control and we got in a fight,

I left without a lover and a friend that dreadful night.

I am that boy who is now a man

who had his heart ripped out by another's hand.

Years have passed and the memory grows old

But I still love that boy who once captured my soul.
