Adoring Fire

It is strange to think,

That in a place like this,

A Loving God would be present,

For some would think He would run away,

But He doesn't, He runs into the danger.

What other God pursues the ones He Loves,

Finding them even when they hide.

I went to war to give my Life away,

And God found me in my foxhole.

It was the Adoring Fire of Love I found,

Love that found me at my worst and Loved me the same.

We would lift our voices in song,

Reciting old hyms we had just learned,

Our small band of brothers,

The outcast and rejected by the world

And the Adoring Fire of the Holy Ghost,

Danced above out heads as we sang in Love.

Though all around was death and chaos,

In the midst of our struggles we had an uncompromising Peace.

We faced the days with a smile on our face,

Because we had met the Gracious Prince of Peace.
