When you left
You ran away with something
Viable to my being
To the people around me
To you.
When you went out that apartment door you broke something out of its cage and snatched it up.
When you were finally safe and away from me you tried to mend it
You called me
Telling me you wanted to fix things and be friends
I would sigh through the phone
Not having a care in the world
I had no feelings
No sadness
Or feelings of regret
I couldn’t feel
Because you had stolen my heart.
