Brisk Winter

As cold brisk air ruffles through the trees

You listen for birds but find none in thee.

The cold wind blows, and birds fly south

You hope for a white winter

But the words never leave your mouth.

Leaves fall to the ground

Labor raking them to a mound

We hold hands, counting to ten

Hoping to find excitement and happiness....within.
