Ah, Venice,
The city of love
The moon is full
A church bell chimes.
A Gondola pilot
Pretends not to hear
Words he has heard
A thousand times.
But this couple is different
Both in looks and in size
A large sumo wrestler
With stars in his eyes.
The woman he's with
Is stunningly pretty
And she listens to his words
In earnest, without pity.
"Solange, my flower,
You are young, as I know,
But when you smile, light shines
Into the shadows of my soul.
Beyond youth and when beauty fades
My heart will still belong to you.
Now, can you find it in your heart
To always love me too?"
