I must admit I was hooked reading this. Somehow you were able to drive the story with minimal details. Maybe that's where I fall short? Ah that's besides the point. I was impressed how much I could picture just knowing that the ship was dark and abandoned. You could almost feel how panicked the main character was. I also must admit Debbie reminds me of Mother from the original Alien.

My own is rather boring at the start compared to yours. Your story starts out with the character already in peril, something that truly gets a reader interested in what you're writing. Personally, when I read old novels in school I never wondered what would happen next, but when I finished your first chapter I had to ask myself, "Will this guy make it out of the ship, or will the escape pod mulfunction and doom him, forcing him to find some other way to escape or survive?". This was a good read.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I had a lot of fun writing it. I think placing details in the right areas of a story is key while others are best left to the imagination of the reader. Take care!
