I don’t know

how it started.

So don’t bother

asking.

I was running,

I think.

Running,

sprinting,

jogging.

I must have

hit my head.

I know that happened.

It was real.

I woke up

in a world

of kindness, of cruelty

of love, of hate

of peace, of war.

I don’t know

how I got here.

So don’t bother

asking.

I had been here

before,

yet I

had never been here

before.

It was

a land of

towering castles

beautiful princesses

and powerful kings.

Wait, that’s not right.

It was

a land of

upturned castles

uncouth princesses

and impotent kings.

No, that’s not right either.

A land

of sprawling forests

of rolling hills

of flowered paths,

of blackened trees

of decimation

of falling ash.

I don’t know

how to get out of here.

So don’t bother

asking.

I do know one thing,

though.

It is all

real.
