Outrageous!

I open my eyes and I can’t believe it. The totally indignity!

Of course, they’d never have got away with it if I hadn’t had such a wild night on the tiles. I’d have woken up and put a stop to it before it got this far. But, oh no! They had to take advantage of my weakened state.

How many of my friends and, even worse, my enemies, have witnessed my predicament? More to the point, how am I ever going to live it down? I’ll be the laughing stock of the neighbourhood until some other poor cat gets made even more of a spectacle.

But I’m going to get my revenge! It won’t be that hard, I just need to be a bit patient.

Sooner or later, they are going to have to remove this outrageous get-up. I’ll pretend to be asleep, but really I’ll be lying in wait.

And when those hands reach round to get a hold on this.....thing.....I’m going to grab them. And my claws will be far from retracted. There is such a thing as feline dignity, you know.

Until then I’ll pretend that I like playing the clown. Laugh all you like, but keep your distance while you do!

A fun, light-hearted piece, Hully! Perfectly in line with a cat's train of thought. Anytime I see a cat wearing clothing, I imagine they're thinking something along these lines. It's amazing anyone can get their cat into a piece of clothing, and without an array of scratches to show for it, that's truly a skill! Some cats never forgive, though, and never forget.

Thanks, Jeff. Bella, the mother cat, looks just like the one in the pic and I could easily imagine her reaction should someone decide to demean her in that way. Glad you enjoyed it and I hope it brought a smile!

Perhaps you were right about surprise endings. Stories like this don't need them. Let's just say that I have yet to read anything of yours that I haven't enjoyed . I do like surprise endings but it is often just as good to leave what happens next to the imagination of the reader.
