How Fragile!
How fragile it is,
the link between us;
I knew that from the start.
If I get to lose it
I’m certain that it
will surely break my heart.
So many potential
attacks can be made,
that would take you away
and it makes me afraid.
Those strings
I cherish and
I’ll maintain them strong,
if there is a break
then I’ll scream
‘This is wrong!’
Our connection is vulnerable
from those outside forces
that won’t think twice
about changing our courses.
With not a care
they will sever the link
and then when I’m without you
I’ll be certain to sink.

Beautifully done, Hully! This could be about so many things, but foremost I think about the connection between two people and the fear of losing that connection. It is a frightening thing when you think about how quickly two people can drift apart. Nothing is forever certain, sadly, as much as we want it to be. We can only take a chance and hope we're not hurt in the end. It's what love and friendship are built on: trust.
I can feel the fear in these words and the love. It is a beautiful poem, Hully. Really well done.

It was a personal write, but it was also about the internet and how vulnerable all connections through it are. It followed my thoughts that if there was a war would they put a stop to the internet; and if they did, I would be totally lost now, to the point where I could not really exist.

Perhaps its a good thing we don't know just how vulnerable we are Mama Hullabaloo. On a global and personal scale. Of course we could go back to snail mail - the average time was fifteen days, one way, the worst was seventy two! Usianguke
