a young girl, with a story to tell.

Episode OneIt was barely 6am and aunty Ronke was already up, her bag packed. She'd be travelling to port Harcourt to feature in a film there. Since I lost my parents, aged 12, five years ago and had to move in with aunty Ronke, I'd never spent a full week with her. Being the celebrity actress,She was always travelling, from one set to the other. 'Funmi', she said to me while confirming the clothes in her bag, ' This project is a big one. The producer and director, all have good pedigree. This could fetch me an AMVCA.' The AMVCA, the prime awards in the movie industry was something she craved so much. Well, every actor in the country did too. But Aunty Ronke had the award elude her countless times. In almost ten years acting, the highest she could boast of was just one nomination. ••••• I waved as she drove out of the gate. It would be yet another couple of days without her. I knew I'd miss her but if, really, this film could get her the prized award, then I was more than happy to let her go. I hoped everything would go well in Aunt Ronke's absence. Well, it did. Except one problem, Uncle Taye, her husband....... * It was already 7:30 pm and quite unlike him, he was not yet back from work. I couldn't figure out what'll keep him up till that time. Perhaps it was a busy day at the office or maybe, the already drizzling rain. The later, I doubted. He had a car and as such, should have no problems finding his way home under the heaviest of rain. I tried his phone a couple of times but could not connect to him. Actually, I should have gone to sleep but I had to await his return so I'd serve him dinner. I moved to the loving room and turned on the television to keep myself busy. I remained there until, I guess, my eyes couldn't carry any longer. I fell asleep on the couch..... •••••• I felt a tap on my shoulder. With my eyes still blurred,I could not see the person clearly. But I need not see, I already smelt. It was Uncle Taye. I knew from his perfume. Beyond the perfume, I smelt something else, 'alcohol!' His eyes were bloodshot, was he drinking? 'You're welcome Uncle', I greeted and moved to the kitchen to bring his food. 'What's for dinner?' He asked as I brought the tray of food. 'Melon Sir.' 'Wow!' He looked at the plate and added, 'As fresh as you.?' Where did that come from?. Really, the man was drunk. How fresh was I to look like a plate of melon soup? I noticed he was starring at me. Nervous at his dead stare, I hit the soup and it fell, spilling some content. 'I'm sorry', I apologized. He was rather cool with his reply. 'It's okay', he said softly. I quickly rushed to the kitchen to fetch the mop. I returned shortly but could not find Uncle Taye. Maybe he had gone upstairs to his room. I started cleaning the spilled soup when suddenly, in swiftest of speed,I felt a hand grab my waist from behind. This was followed by a forceful pull. I turned to see who was behind such rubbish, It was Uncle Taye......
