I have cut ties that held me down,

I’ve cried about it all around.

It’s for my best; is what I say,

To stand my ground’s the only way.

Because I’ve hurt for quite too long,

I really thought that I was wrong.

Until one day it came to me,

And I had an epiphany.

That I alone can make it through,

No matter what I have to do.

I have cut ties that I held dear,

I’ve winged my moves that seem unclear.

And has it made everything better?

I can’t confess that in this letter.

For it still hurts me; I must admit,

I cannot be a hypocrite.

But there’s a rope that binds my gut,

You’re the only tie I cannot cut.
