My life as a barman.

Life of a barman

The life of a barman is some life indeed. You fall into the rabbit hole as you see through a lens into a world that few ever see.

Through sober goggles you supply the ones seeking a celebration: The staff doos, birthday partys, stagg and hen doos, there out to celebrate life.

Through sober goggles you supply the passing the timers: Who come to pre occupy themselves when they have nothing better to do.

Through sober goggles you supply the ones seeking solace: Trying to numb what surrounds there mind. They drink to quench there thirst attempting to escape from there lives for a few hours at least.

Through sober goggles you supply the Lonely: Who are paying not for any beverage, but for the barman's patter, companionship, for just some semblance of human interaction that can bring a smile to those who are starved of it at home.

Through sober goggles you supply addicts: Who are spending any money that they can muster on the oozing stream of poison they desperately desire.

Through drunken goggles you supply yourself: As the shift is done, the drunks are gone, and now you reflect on what you witness. You watch the evolution of the supplied each night. The celebrator, the passing the timer, the solace seeker, the lonely heart, and the addict. Once they were separate now they are one, one drinker, one supplier, one barman.

This was really interesting. Observing people losing themselves to the drink then giving in to the temptation in private. Nice work.
