Smiles and Fangs
Take it out.
Burn it down.
Be the Firestarter of my heart.
I’ll stitch the hole with no Oxycodone.
Whatever it takes.
You bring the fire and i'll stand in the middle waiting for the ashes to fall.
Let my brain leak the water to put out my heart.
Black water left in its wake.
I’ll be there.
Bleeding wounds and freehanded scars.
Tissue built up over years of lashed words.
Blood caked to cover holes left behind by your prying fingers.
I wear black, so the blood doesn’t show.
I wear a smile, because it’s the only way I know.
I put one foot in front of the other, because walking away on my own two feet is how you know I won.
