Story Spinner

You spin your tales of fantasy,

a magic world you see;

I guess it is a kind of shame

that you don’t share what I see.

Your world is populated

by the palace and royalty,

so naive that you are blind

to the reality.

For princes are just playboys

and they’ll take you for a ride;

once they’ve had enough of you

you won’t have any pride.

The castles, they’re all crumbling down,

ruination does abound,

and all those magic fairies

they are gremlins once they're found.

Duplicity floods everywhere,

the sea begins to flood,

and if you opened up your eyes

you’d see it’s made of blood.

Corruption is all around you now,

but don’t let it taint your dreams;

go back to your fantasy

and block your ears from screams.

Your fairies are from childhood,

a life of sugar painted clouds;

whereas the Fae that I’m familiar with

spin spider threaded shrouds.

Your wizard, he wields a magic wand,

my witch calls out a curse;

I’m only being truthful here --

I’m not sure whose world’s worse.
