A piece from my book; Noir: Confessions from Lisbeth...

Words that hurt and fear instill,

Words unkind; words that kill.

Words that leave me feeling broken,

Words I wish remained unspoken.

Things he says without a care,

Words that hurt beyond compare.

Is this a debt; is this a price?

I wish I could desensitize.

The words he says are aggravating,

Am I perhaps exaggerating?

Is this his wish; is this a thrill?

To say the words, he knows will kill.

Some people are monsters - without a care for anyone but themselves. Others are snakes - saying what they need to in order to manipulate others. Whatever they are, a person who has no understanding for other people and no compassion isn't a person worth being around. Cutting the selfish people out of your life is a smart thing; they'll call you selfish for it, but what do they know about true friendship or sensitivity?
A heart-wrenching piece, my dear. Your words drive home.

Oh, boy, can I relate to this one, jaylisbeth. Words can cause as much pain and as much death as any other weapon. Excellent!

Your book is going to be a journey of love and pain, and one I will be buying. Another powerful poem about pain, and it's like the words themselves have built this person, because he is the meaning of all the words, he is the thesaurus so new words can be created, and they can kill more quickly than any weapon currently available on earth. You express this very deeply, because the person with the words will know how much they kill, so he is a dictionary of cruelty. Love is connected between two people, so when one has all the words to say, it is suicide to his lover, and that is harrowing. Beautifully powerful Lisbeth, and your rhyming is some of the best ever written in literature. Your depth here is haunting, because words can be the only weapon that can get away with murder. You are a goddess, and I admire you :)

I feel the words you write this day, I feel I feel just what you say!
The tired lines of left behind, for certain form the ties that bind;
Then how, my lovely, will we change, & when, if ever, flee from range:
Round & round our days just fly, contemplative of “Goodbye”!

This is both touching and unfortunate. And being a guy who rarely cries , this had me teary eyed. To be the target of verbal abuse, yet still hope that there is a healing . Which there is. This has fantastic flow and depth of feeling. And inevitably another top notch poem without a single flaw. This is incredible. To say the least ..:)
