Morning Illusions

Started: 2 - 15 - 18 8:10 am

Finished: 2 - 15 - 18 8:15 am

As I try to lift my heavy eyelids

The smallest ray of light slips through into my pupils

The mind, still tired and groggy mistakes it’s existence

And the light becomes a dream

A road, a road in a dream

And I see people traveling

The people drive and the people walk

They walk along the road

The roadway in my dream

Where are you going?

Where does the pathway go?

I have stood on the road

The roadway in my dream

I know where it begins and where it ends

But I don’t know why the people

Who live inside my mind

Wonder around my head to find it

To walk across the fleeting light

The smallest ray of light that slipped through my pupils in the early hour of night

My mind, still tired and groggy mistakes it’s existence

The light becomes the road

The roadway in my dream
