Burning The Book
It’s a shame in a way because it is kind of nice,
but the sight of it’s sickening, burning like ice.
I’ll collect my kindling, select some sticks,
I know what I’m doing, which I should pick.
It’s really quite puny, so slim and so small,
worth the value – no not at all.
The words are so cliched, originality lacking
and yet this author feels she can go attacking;
I’ve stolen her words, well that begs belief,
for all of those used she herself was a thief.
I’ll tear some pages and add them to flame
relieved that they’ll never confront me again.
The pictures are gorgeous but it’s no loss to me;
all on the internet, their use is quite free.
That paper it shrivels and crumbles to ash;
just like her insults, confined now to trash.
It’s like a weight has been lifted, now it is gone,
all traces of someone who really is wrong;
her superiority might be her undoing
for it’s really so clear that her mind is ungluing.

Oh man, I can imagine anyone being that rude and cruel to you, Hully. You have been such an inspiration to me here on Booksie!! So thankful I have such a supportive writing family here on Booksie. Hugs to you.
Sun, April 29th, 2018 6:21pmAfter all the despicable things I have witnessed her post, this is very much called for !
I'm with you dear kind Hully !
I have seen the posts... drew an intake of breath at such venomous, personal remarks. You are such an influential and supportive member of Booksie and a thoroughly decent individual. You do not deserve such spite.
Sun, April 29th, 2018 8:45pmA well-composed piece, Hully. Though, if I had one gripe about it, I would've used the word 'imagined' before 'superiority', because from what I've seen, she dwells in the trash with the maggots.
Still, a good poem. You're use of tact and class is admirable when admonishing someone for their despicable behaviour.
My! Such fire in your words. Forgive me for my being confused, I am now just catching up with reading my friends' material. I am sorry this is happening to you yet again, Hully Excellent poem, by the way.

Glad you did it, Hully, she's not worth suffering all the anguish she causes
