I waited silently through the lonesome days
Grandmother sat in her creaky rocking chair
No longer did she knit her socks as usual
But she stared straight out the window.

I waited silently through the lonesome days
Grandmother sat in her creaky rocking chair
No longer did she knit her socks as usual
But she stared straight down at the floor.

I waited silently through the lonesome days
Grandmother sat in her creaky rocking chair
No longer did she knit her socks as usual
But she stared straight down at her lap.

I waited silently through the lonesome days
Grandmother sat in her creaky rocking chair
No longer did she knit her socks as usual
But she stared straight through the doctor's eyes.
