tears streak down my cheeks
‘tis the gloom in the shower
the rain pours outside

she sloshes away
through the mud and glop
i turn my back

the rain pours outside
beyond the wet horse
‘tis a peaceful rain

i step outside
i close my eyes
i spread my arms

the rain washes away my tears
but she is near
i must stop

and so i could not finish
my tears are still nearby
secret and not forgotten

and it has been nearly 5 hours now
since i was there
and i still have not forgotten

i dont know why these secrets are kept
i dont know why i kept mine
i dont know why i had one

but could i have continued
could i have held my arms out
could i have stayed to the end and she would not care

i will never know
because ‘tis a dishonest world
and secrets are kept when sharing is vital to peace
