This painful light,

my affection is not a phase,

these bleeding peaceful moments

that I cramp up with,

make it easy for anyone to read.

My love affair,

conflicts, deceiving itself, everyday,

alarming the clock of self-destructive tendencies,

allowing myself,

for one true unmentioned moment,

a tiny thinking, unmoved slowed away struggle.

Light fading dimmer.

Down.

This pain is,

a way to find a way;

undrowned by the river of my own shell skin exposure,

as I wash up on the shore,

skinned alive and open,

shell shucked and hoping,

for one to receive and return the pearl,

of truth recited pain,

growing from a grain,

of sand.

I am below,

drowned unknown.

I am above,

enough to forgive,

unoffended,

unconditional love.

This painful light,

is not a phase.

As I swim away,

in this artificial ocean,

of acceptance.
