A A A

Two complete and drastic opposites

But with the same end result

Heartbreak and pain

From both sides of the spectrum

Both being good in small doses

But too much of either

Only ends in pain

On the spectrum of reality

Both endpoints are a fantasy world

Both sides bring expectations

Both sides destroy the mind

Hope

Too much, and it will only hurt you

Too much, and the fake will become real

Life lived in only hope can only hurt

Good expectations

Foster bad realities

Fear

Too much, and it will blind you

To the real world

To what is rational

Too much fear clouds all reason

And only brings you down

Yet, the midpoint of the spectrum

Lies perfect mental clarity

Just enough hope to take risks

Just enough fear to know when to stop

Although both are lethal alone

In the midpoint of the spectrum

Lies a small amount of both

Both of which are needed to live happily

Each one necessary

To numb the pain of the other
