Souls flood through our fingers, onto the page to touch someone else's

My soul floods through my body,

Down to my fingers and onto the page,

Pieces of me,

Spelled out in ink for the world to see.

Every joy, sorrow, and tear,

Revealed in a combination of letters.

Parts of myself I kept buried or hidden,

Resurfaced as I watch them appear,

Memories I had forgotten,

And betrayals I wished I had.

They stare at me,

Either ugly or simply beautiful,

All the pain and happiness,

Pouring out from me,

Forming something beautiful.

And I realize,

That the hurt seems ugly to me,

I want to keep it locked inside,

However I now know,

That there are others out there,

Who also have that hurt,

And my words have the power to touch them,

Like a hand reaching through the page,

Brushing tears off their cheeks,

It leaves me to wonder,

How something as simple as words,

Have the power to make someone else feel not so alone,

And it is truly magical,

When your soul poured out on a page,

Helps saves someone else’s.
