Push And Pull

It is just a normal afternoon stroll for a couple of gnomes, nothing special, when right in front of them appears a massive great boulder. This is not just any old boulder though. No, it’s not just made of plain old rock. This is a boulder of magical marble.

Goff and Gringo look all around it. There is not a human in sight.

“Shall we?” asks Goff.

“Can we?” questions Gringo.

Together they both reply, “I guess we can give it a try.”

It’s big though. Much larger than either of them. And marble is a dense and heavy substance. How are they going to move it.

“Push and pull!” Again, they spoke in unison, and they both nod at each other.

One moves to the front and one moves behind. They both pull and it does not move, not even an inch. Getting no results, they both change to pushing. Once more, it stays where it sits.

Goff pauses, shouts to Gringo, “Are you pushing or pulling?” With no resistance, the boulder rolls towards him. Now they are no longer working against each other, it moves.

“Pushing,” Gringo answers, and the boulder rumbles towards Goff and squashes him flat.
