What if only happiness existed in life?

No sufferings to experience, just joy!

But then I realise, there would be no thrill without strife.

Life would be taken for granted to enjoy,

We might not know the value of things,

Hidden potentials will lay hidden within us

If we don’t have misery that gives us wings

And builds our strength. Thus,

Darkness is required as much as light.

Yet I’m sick of just watching things suffer.

Even if desire is to blame as per Buddha’s insight;

I want to be of help when things get tougher

Because I know how it feels and I know that pain.

Don’t want them to be left alone without hope,

For even a small act of kindness can ease their strain

So why restrain yourself when you can help them cope?

“You may have someone in your mind, someone in your heart,

But I’ll be your someone when there’s no one."

The golden words from a long lost friend apart

That I found solace in, So for everyone

Who’s going through a sad phase

I’ll be his/her someone when they have no one,

Because life is made up of only a few days

And sharing that love of yours with all won’t kill your fun.
