Coffee is as coffee does,

the best damn invention that ever was.

I gaze at the pot while you brew,

anxious to get my hands on you.

Life giving jolt, you lift me on high,

a day sans you makes me want to cry.

And let's not talk of the whopper headache,

yes, the absence of you, I can't take.

As long as I have several cups of you to swill,

I'm probably safe from having to kill.

I guess if I did kill, there's lots of you in prison,

but I see the pot light, and know there's brewing fission.

The journey to human begins at the first sip one of you,

electricity jittery bug begins about sip 122.

By sip 300, I'm dancing on the ceiling,

another few, and to get down, I'll need peeling.

I'll just have to face it and admit I'm a junkie,

but I just can't function with out my golden monkey!

I sometimes have tried to get you off my back,

but, I just go crazy without my coffee attack!
