James Paxton, (Above), became the second Canadian born pitcher to throw a no-hitter.
Seattle Mariner's pitcher, James Paxton, became the second Canadian born player to pitch a no-hitter last night.
Paxton pitched all nine innings in a 5-0 Seattle win over the Toronto Blue Jays, giving up no hits, no earned runs, and striking out seven batters.
There was no scoring until the top of the third inning.
Ben Gamel scored on a routine ground out by Robinson Cano.
Later that inning, Nelson Cruz drove in Dee Gordon with a RBI single.
Mike Zunino made it 4-0 Mariners at the top of the fourth inning with a two run homer.
Finally, at the top of the fifth inning, Cano scored on a sacrifice fly by Mitch Haniger.
Gordon went three for five at the plate last night.
Jay's starting pitcher, Marcus Stroman, continues to struggle on the mound this season.
Last night, Stroman gave up nine hits, five earned runs, and struck out just two batters in five innings pitched.
