Andrew Benintendi, (Top), went three for five and had two RBIs yesterday.


After an exciting win in extra innings on Friday night, the Toronto Blue Jays were on the losing end yesterday.

The Boston Red Sox defeated the Jays 5-2 yesterday afternoon.

There was no scoring until the top of the third inning.

Boston went ahead 1-0 when Mookie Betts scored on a ground rule double by Andrew Benintendi.

Later that same inning, Hanley Ramirez put the BoSox ahead 3-0 with a two run homer.

The Blue Jays got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth inning when Anthony Alford drove in Kevin Pillar with a RBI single.

Boston, however, got that run back at the top of the sixth inning when Rafael Devers drove in Xander Bogaerts with a single.

In the bottom of the inning, Justin Smoak a solo home run.

The Red Sox put the game out of reach at the top of the ninth inning, scoring another run.

Benintendi went three for five at the plate and collected two RBIs yesterday.

Boston's starting pitcher, David Price, gave up five hits, two earned runs, three walks, and struck out sx batters in 5.1 innings pitched.

Jay's starter, Marco Estrada gave up seven hits, four earned runs, a walk, and struck out five batters in six innings pitched.
