Where is the halt; where is the end?

Just how much longer I need to pretend?

That all is okay; all is just fine,

What helps me forget is a glass of my wine.

I can pretend my heart doesn’t throb,

That I am resentful and that’s why I sob.

Alone on that chair holding my mug,

Sipping the coffee, I consider my drug.

And as night falls my pain doesn’t pass,

I drown all my sorrows with the wine in the glass.

I question my motives; I question my fear,

I was okay; was I being sincere?

I battle again a continuous spree,

My only worst enemy will always be ME.
