Reiki is thousand years old technique. It is pronounced as RAY-KEY. It is a Japanese word and meaning for the same is “Universal Life Force Energy”. It is also called vital force. In this process healing is done by laying Hands at first stage but in advanced stage this can be done by Reiki symbols. This is done by attuned master/healer only. Reiki does not give any harm it is always work for the one who opt it. It is simple and natural method of healing.

It was originated in India thousands year ago and rediscovered by Christian monk. His name was Mikao Usui.

It is said that once he was asked to give details about anyone who could demonstrate the healing power used by Jesus. In search of this answer he left his teaching profession and travelled around the world but he learned a lot but could find what he was searching for.

Later he returned to Japan and went through Old Buddhist Sanskrit sutras. He choose to travel to holy mountain of Kori-Yama. He decided to stay there for 21 days on fast and meditate. He took 21 sutras and 21 stones along with him. Al the end of every day he discarded one stone and Read one sutra then sing and meditate again. He spent 21 days like wise and on last day morning he saw a shining light moving towards him and hit in the centre of his forehead.

He saw some symbol floating in this light when he come back to normal state of consciousness he felt a high state of energy in his body. This was the birth of Usui Reiki system.

We can read more about this in many holy books.

Reiki System have 5 Principle that every healer should follow:

  • Just for Today, I will not get Angry.
  • Just for Today, I will not worry.
  • Just for Today, I will do my work honestly.
  • Just for Today, I will be kind to my neighbour and every living thing.
  • Just for Today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
