The results of my short story contest!

The results are in! Of course, I must say the generic congratulatory statement about all of the stories, but seriously, I mean it. All of the submissions were really awesome and I had a very difficult time judging them. I loved all of the stories and I wish I could have let them all win! But let's cut to the chase.

“Why didn’t you say? I’d never have bought the tickets.”

by hullabaloo22

Just reading this gives me that regretful feeling of discovering you just wasted time and money on something you thought would be amazing but just wasn't. I don't know what the issue was, or what the ticket was for, but that makes it even more relatable and applicable to any scenario. Good job!

Nina knew her limits. She wouldn’t hold that gun!

by Joy Shaw

This develops both a character and a situation in an extremely short amount of words. It has a perfect mixture of making me want more yet stay satisfied with what I am provided. It also ties into the big kerfuffle about gun regulation.

Your eyes glistened with unshed tears. Laughter escaped your mouth.

by UnextraordinaryGirl

This story fills me with emotion. I can feel the sense of turning from sadness to happiness, and even the feeling of pure happiness. All of the entries by this author were extraordinary, and I would suggest checking them all out.

Sorry if you didn't win. It's very difficult to come up with a winning story in just ten words.
