Eyes become so heavy
As life moves on with time
Slowly drifting forward
Eroded from my prime

All that once was future
Those dreams that truly mattered
Ravaged by the winds of change
Dreams now truly shattered

Emptiness in the mirror
Nothing gazing back at me
A lifeless shell of yesterday
Is that truly me?

A smile once so pure and radiant
Has become a frown
If I turn my head the other way
Will it still be upside down?

Dreams they say never die
You adapt them to what’s true
For time it waits for no one
The hope is always you
