Out Of Place

Where’s the ice?

Where’s the snow?

Where’s the coldness

that I know?

So much grey,

and no white

anywhere

in my sight.

I’m out of place,

far from home,

like an alien

all alone.

Exist by day,

dream by night

where I find

polar delight.

You can look,

you can’t know

when I’m back

in the snow;

back in place,

to where I live,

not sure I’ll ever

you forgive.
