The first thought I knew was to break free of the round, warm space which held me.

The next was to peck and push, knowing then my moments of moving forward in strength.

The shell cracks and light appears, but with my eyes still closed the grey world greets me.

It's colder now and I hunker down within the soft beneath. It is then that someone appears,

as I sense them, I open my eyes and see, a someone big and wonderful, there beside me.

I tell them so with a chirp, then several, and the next thing I know, they feed me. Right then it

becomes my favorite thing, and every time they leave and return, I begin to sing.

Soon others appear, sharing my space, I don't like it and my demands grow louder,

and the big and wonderful two, I know they hear me best, better than the rest.

I grow and grow until it becomes a crowded nest. And even though they warm me,

the others they annoy me, and one day I decide to follow the wonderful two.

Not knowing how I've grown, the first flight causes hesitation, but I intend to show the others

whose on top, so I leave the circle and perch upon a holding branch.

The wonderful two are calling from nearby, and both are saying 'time to fly.'

So, without a second thought, I jump and flap my full feathered wings,

and discover my home in the sky.
