In a time where it feels like there is little hope for South Africa-this will show South Africans like myself, even people from other nations, that South Africa is a proud and patriotic nation.

South Africa, my homeland. A place where fields of flowers bloom in their prime, where oceans run deep to the depth of the earth, where mountain ranges soar high into the heavens and where the mighty lion walks the land.

South Africa is a place of revolution in culture, society and politics. South Africa crawls deep into my heart with its concrete jungles and buzzing urban life to the gentleness of the countryside feeding the herds. The smell of a braai on Saturday nights surrounded by family, trying to solve the hurdles of this great nation, fills me with hope. Yes! This country shares a dark and evil past, but the joy filled future excites me more.

From the fishermen and stormy winter nights in the south to the Baobab trees in the north, this I shall always adore. We have enough heroes, role models and freedom fighters to fuel the passion and love for our people-all our people-for eternity. The river valleys and languages expressing the voice of the people will always provide me with the morals to find everlasting life.

May the flame of South Africa, my homeland, birth land and motherland, burn for many centuries and generations to come.
